Per Störby Jutbring – The Lynx, The Fawn, The Squirrel
(Spotify)

On The Thief Bunny Society out 4/24 on Hoob Records, Swedish composer Per Störby Jutbring's palette consists of piano, string quartet, cello, clarinet and electronics. "Braids" is perhaps the most impressive piece from the album, putting its fusing of subtle synths with orchestrated strings on full display. The album breaks free of the sometimes weighty confines of the neo-classical genre, as it's really an album about the world of being a kid.

The album's orchestrated layers, loops, arpeggios, synths and electronic elements compliment the Swedish Malva Quartet, cellists Linnea Olsson and Johanna Dahl, and clarinetist Nils Berg, while Per plays grand and upright piano, electronics, organ, celesta and synths.

In the new single/new video for "The Lynx, The Fawn, The Squirrel", Per and his string quartet are seen packed in tight into what is actually his ”Las Palmas” studio in Stockholm, but actually looks more like a real kid's room. The various pieces and kid room decorations (E.T. phone home!) that subtly become visible throughout juxtapose with the gentle and introspective modern-classical vibe of the piece.
