Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Peter Nigido:
Alternative, Electronic, Trip Pop

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Peter Nigido:
I first learnt to play the drums when I was in my early teens. I took an interest in hybrid playing, introducing electronic pads, looping systems and live programming set ups to my drum kit. This also encouraged my decision to study studio production. I’m currently signed to indie label Cultivator Records releasing music I produce and now sing and front my own solo works.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Peter Nigido:
Yes, I used to play with mums wooden spoons on a chair accompanying my brother on the acoustic guitar playing songs from U2’s Achtung Baby. Dad popped his head in and asked if I wanted to take drum lessons.

Nagamag:
Have you produced anything this year?

Peter Nigido:
Yeah, I was part of the Facebook group Live Electronic Musicians of Melbourne’s “Covers/Remix” compilation album. We were partnered up with another artist where we had to either remix or cover was her others song. I was paired with Melbourne’s Arcane Trickster and took on the song Project Sign. Arcane Trickster Remixed my song Touch. Was an awesome little project to take on. I real my liked what Arcane Trickster produced with their remix of Touch.

Nagamag:
Anything new releasing over the remainder of the year?

Peter Nigido:
Yep, I have an EP releasing on 11.12.20. It’s an Ep that features a radio edit of the single Touch, 2 B-Sides and 2 feature artists remix of 2 other songs of mine.

Nagamag:

Peter Nigido:

Nona – Forever Yours (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“When there is a bottomless abyss between the warmth of a loved one and a cheerful company of friends, the choice is obvious; do what makes your heart beat faster and harder. Nona pleased us one more time with her elegant soulful vocal performance here. ”

“Когда между теплом близкого человека и весёлой компанией друзей бездонная пропасть, выбор очевиден; делай то, что заставляет биться твоё сердце чаще и сильнее.”

-Nagamag.com

Blessed with a powerful voice reminiscent of the soul greats, Nona oozes determination and ambition. Hailing from a small town in the south of the Netherlands, she has her eyes on the stars. Her musical taste is rooted in the classics, but her love for hiphop and pop gives her a fresh sound distinctly her own.

Nona released her self-titled debut album in October 2019 and her most recent release ‘Forever Yours’ is currently making it to mainstream radio in The Netherlands. Having playlist positions at the country’s biggest radio stations, weekly live studio performances, a #4 position (and still growing!) in the Shazam charts, this song has got it all.

The Millennial Club – summer nights (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Pop, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Definitely an addictive memorable chill pop song, this is -summer nights- the 4# track of new album of The Millennial Club. A beautiful song with a gently groove and upbeat vocals which will be your new soundtrack of your rides with your best friends, the memory box of your best memories through summer. ”

-Nagamag.com

SoCal-based quartet The Millennial Club (TMC) releases ‘summer nights’, the band’s highly anticipated 6-track EP.

A recurring theme that appears in The Millennial Club’s music tends to revolve around the real-life notion of being honest, confessing your true feelings, and wearing your heart on your sleeve.

‘summer nights’ is both a reflective and dreamy romantic soundtrack that tells a series of stories about feeling overwhelming passion for a love interest and, naturally, facing the challenges that come with any relationship at all stages.

The infectious melodies and carefully crafted lyricism throughout are reflective of their journey in defining their sound as a blossoming band, their newfound perspectives on relationships, and their maturing process as human beings.

QUOTES

“Writing ‘summer nights’ felt cathartic in a lot of ways; the record as a whole feels like a release of emotions and tension within ourselves. I think for the longest time, I was obsessed with fitting into a self-described box and wanted so badly to ‘be like’ my musical inspirations, but with this record — perhaps unlike our previous releases — we really weren’t trying to be anything other than ourselves.”

“We created every track with the intention of listening to ourselves, something that is unique unto itself even within the work itself; we may have missed that the first time around. Every tune is written from personal experience, with every arrangement meticulously sorted through again and again to no avail, and every sax and vocal take done and redone (and redone again) to make sure we got it right.”

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Kick Bong:
It's not easy, if we stay within the codes of electronic music, I would say electronica, chillout, down tempo but also electro and techno sometimes or house and even pop, I have a lot of influences! I listened to a lot of funk, acid jazz, new wave, punk, rock.

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Kick Bong:
In 1985 I met friends with whom we started a band and at 20 we signed an album at Barclay it was crazy! afterwards I played with a lot of groups on drums and percussion in different styles, recordings and concerts.
Well much later at the end of the 90s I discovered electronic music and I had another revelation so I started to buy equipment and at the beginning of 2000 I created Kick Bong it will be 20 years in 2021. I also have another Triptone project which is more pop, trip hop, electro with a lot of vocal features.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Kick Bong:
my dad listened to a lot of music and he introduced me to a lot of different artists and styles, so I started buying records very young when my mom was willing to give me some money, I started with 45rpm and albums later.
every time I listened to music I felt like I was on stage and like that every night I listened loudly and mimed the guitarist, the drummer etc ...
When I was 12, I started playing drums, it's an instrument that I already liked, I can't really explain why even though I loved playing the air guitar; )

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Tallying 25 million streams globally to date, she garnered widespread acclaim from the likes of Refinery29, Idolator, Notion, LADYGUNN and Atwood Magazine who christened her “one of the most promising teens of pop music today” on its “2020 Artists to Watch.” Simultaneously, she shared the stage with everyone from Sigrid to Bastille. Marie Minet – Attendre l’été (Video)

Categories: Best of 2020, Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , , |

“Marie Minet with her song Attendre l’été, through a stunning minimal video clip which hypnotize you quickly and a lush of atmospheric melodic harmonic lines, a beautiful choreography with soft brilliant sound mix, and a sensual heartwarming vocal performance with a goosebumps chorus, engages us wonderful into a memorable song. A song we return back to re-listen and add in your favorite lists. ”

-Nagamag.com

ENG:

A clear and mesmerising voice. Powerful lyrics with nostalgic touches. Deep melodies soften by Cape Verdean influences. This is what makes Marie Minet’s mixing of genres is as sublime as it is innovative. In her raw but poetic way, she tells life stories that echo her generation.

Her first single, “Attendre l’Été,” available in November 2020, navigates between French chanson, spoken word, World Music, and subtle references to the classical compositions of her ancestor Edward Grieg. It’s a song that revives childhood memories while questioning the innocence of youth and the disillusionment of adulthood.

Her first album, “Clair Obscur”, is filled with profound lyrics from her brother Paul. She composed the music in collaboration with Jon Luz, a master of Cape Verdean music who composed for Césaria Évora, bringing a Lusafone accent to the French chanteuse. He also produced the album, which is expected to be released in spring 2021.

“-Rumour- with their new single -Make Love- under SpacedOut Studios Entertainment imprint easily could be a pop reference in terms of production and layering arrangement. A song with a wide elegant vocal performance and upbeat vibes.”

-Nagamag.com

For singer and songwriter Rumour, the inspiration to pursue music originated when he won his first singing competition at 17.

Haven’t We All Been – Mandy McMillan {Official Music Video} (Video)

Categories: Pop, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , , , |

“With a carefully craft in the mix/production level and fine sound assets of drums and guitar lines, Mandy McMillan levels up this blend with her heartwarming and profoundly impactful lyrics into an elegant song.”

-Nagamag.com

Canadian country-pop artist Mandy McMillan has released her emotional new single, “Haven’t We All Been” – which is now available on all digital platforms.

Co-written by McMillan and Chris Roberts, “Haven’t We All Been” was produced in Nashville by Simon Gugala. It was influenced primarily by the styles and sounds of Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty, and John Mayer to create a song that intersects between alt-country and classic rock but is fueled by cathartic energy.

“The inspiration for this song came from my own path to self-love during a very trying time in my life. Creating ‘Haven’t We All Been’ was a healing exercise that helped to keep me grounded. It taught me to not be ashamed of any situation I have been in. Instead, I can transform the pain into a means of learning, growing, and – ultimately – living,” says McMillan.

“Reflective hopefulness” is how McMillan describes the lasting impact of the song that she wants her listeners to feel from it.

McMillan says, “I want people know that it is okay to be real and be open about their vulnerability. Every experience becomes a story, and these unique stories and struggles that make us who we are. The greatest gift that we can offer is to share our stories and find a connection – not through our common adversities, but from the helping others to find light through the darkness. With this song, I want to share understanding and compassion for others on a hopeful path to better days.”

The Edmonton-born McMillan’s own journey sent her from the small town of Stony Plain, Alberta to Nashville after she won a Country Music Television Canada Contest in 2008. High points like opening for Trisha Yearwood and Blake Shelton, releasing her 2014 self-titled EP, and making the Top 10 of ole’s “Play for Publisher” have been mixed with lower points of personal struggles and self-reflection. McMillan has ultimately made peace with herself through self-love, spirituality, trust in the universe, and let it shine through with a diverse offering of new music for others to form their own connections with.

“Haven’t We All Been” follows McMillan’s summer release, “Dream Catcher”, and is the newest single to be released from her upcoming album – also called “Dream Catcher” – due in 2021.

She will support “Haven’t We All Been” with a music video in November and a special alliance with Be Free Yoga – a Spruce Grove, Alberta foundation that emphasizes yoga and meditation as a means of healing for those faced with mental health challenges.

“Haven’t We All Been” is available now on all streaming platforms.

HAVEN’T WE ALL BEEN (LYRICS)

Haven’t we all been
Drinking in the same bars
And haven’t we all been
Hiding the same old scars

We’re singing the same songs
About love gone wrong
Getting by getting high
Letting go of yesterday

Haven’t we all been here at least a time or two
Wiping away these tears we’re drinking away our blues
Falling in love and breaking up
Over and over again
Haven’t we all been

I’ve got a friend who
Is getting married next week
And i got another one getting alimony

I’ve had a heartbreak
Pulled close then pushed away
I’ve learned to fly i’ve learned ro cry
Aren’t we all doing the same dang thing

Haven’t we all been here at least a time or two
Wiping away these tears we’re drinking away our blues
Falling in love and breaking up
Over and over again
Haven’t we all been

A little lost along the way
A little up a little down
A little scared to leave the same small towns
A little whiskey kills the pain

But in the end we’re all ok
Tomorrows another day but for now

Haven’t we all been here at least a time or two
Wiping away these tears we’re drinking away our blues
Falling in love and breaking up
Over and over again
Haven’t we all been
Haven’t we all been
