Laxcity – Delete (Video)
“Chillhop beats of the future with a cleaver fuzzed out bassline. Broken and composed just like it should be. Easy to let your imagination run wild to tracks like this. Imagining landscapes that take flight and gardens in bloom. ”

Joshua Mbewe – professionally known as Laxcity – is a Sheffield, UK-based, Ndola, Zambia-born artist whose imaginative music draws on textured and intricate soundscapes to create immersive electronica with emotional resonance.
Laxcity’s debut LP, Catharsis, issued in 2018, is a moving project coloured by orchestral influencers that would set the stage for continued blends of high-octane electronica and oftentimes wistful, ambient and cinematic scores. A pair of 6-track EPs, Purity (2019) and Disconnect (January, 2021), would follow; he also issued a retrospective mixtape in May. 2021 has seen him land the cover of Spotify’s “Dance Rising” (2M) and “creamy” (700K); play Porter Robinson’s “Secret Sky”; tour with DROELOE in EU; release a collaborative single with acclaimed rising star Moore Kismet, and a single with San Holo’s bitbird imprint as part of its Gouldian Finch 4 compilation. AEG also booked his first ever headline show which will take place January 27, 2022 in London.
Newly independent, “melodies from heaven” captures the now-unmistakable Laxcity sound, with its whirring synths, sonic polish, and healing, invigorating energy. It’s the lead single from his second album and most ambitious project to date.
