LennyTunes x Shalom Mor – Gandagana
“Georgian music is strikingly different from everything that is on the musical market. This composition sounds a magnificent, traditional, folk song. Do you feel the crazy energy of living tools? The melody of the flute, the zirna, a huge variety of percussion and just incredible polyphony of sounds! Shine!” (Automatically Translated with Google Translate)
“Грузинская музыка разительно отличается от всего, что есть на музыкальном рынке. В этой композиции звучит великолепная, традиционная, народная песня. Вы чувствуете это сумасшедшую энергию живых инструментов? Мелодия флейты, зурна, огромное разнообразие перкуссии и просто невероятная полифония звуков! Блеск!”

Gandagana is a traditional Georgian folk dance song, from the Black Sea coastal region Achara and it’s the first new single from our upcoming album ‘The Malfoof Collective’ which is inspired by traditional street music, and contemporary street culture.
The song was recorded, and performed live accompanied by an impressive array of authentic traditional instruments, like Persian Tar, Duduk, Arabic & Indian Flutes, Zurna, Georgian Panduri Guitar and Arabic, Moroccan & Algerian Percussion. Eastern polyphony and Middle Eastern Monophony, mixed beautifully with contemporary instruments like Samplers, Drum machines and Moog Synthesizer (which was configured to play traditional quarter-tones scales). We used techniques like layered vocal recordings, and sound manipulation inspired by Frank Zappa and others.
