Prospector Sound – Laguna
“When we travel the stars and explore exoplanets of foreign words this shall be the soundtrack. Solft melodic spaced-out sounds with much timbral complexity. Its harmonious tomes drove us to space out at our desk, this is how its done. ”

Prospector Sound is the alter-ego of Manchester musician Richard Talbot, who is most well known as a founding member of Marconi Union. The music largely eschews rhythm and places a heavy emphasis on evocative atmospherics -- these can be warm, dark or mysterious or sometimes all of these things at the same time. One consistent feature of Prospector Sound music is its organic quality often emphasized by the employment of processed found sound and field recordings. The tracks are both warm and simultaneously eerie. Lush synth parts co-exist with distant unsettling bumps and clanks derived from treated field recordings.
New track "Laguna", out today, carries the listener across a spectrum of ambient electronics, punctuated by dots of texture that constantly enrich throughout. It's a fitting snapshot into the world of Prospector Sound.
New album Red Sargasso is out April 29th release via The Ambient Zone.
