Ready to Rest – HUNTER

Lyrics of HUNTER – Ready to Rest

Cause I know that I will
Find myself in Georgia’s hills
Chasing a life that never will
Be there for me when I am
Ready to rest

But I know there’s more
Out there, beneath the sunshine
A world awaits me, in the light
If I, reach out and take it
The life I always wanted
Is so close that I can taste it
But there’s still, work to be done
In the morning, so I’m ready
For the life that I deserve
And hopefully, when all has settled
I’ll have made right with the world
And can leave for something better

I hope I don’t still
Find myself in Georgia’s hills
Chasing a life that never will
Be there for me when I am
Ready to rest

I gotta go
Get myself out on the road
Hands on the wheel, no idea where I’m going
Look for a house on a farm
I can own, mmm
Cause somewhere I know
I’ll find a place that feels like home
Where I can raise my own
And watch them grow
Beneath a living sky

But if I still
Find myself in Georgia’s hills
Chasing a life that never will
Be there for me when I am
Ready to rest

Then book me a one way train out of town
And I’ll never turn back around
