Sara De Sanctis – Serendipity (Spotify)
“A sentimental journey taken by a sweet & soulful vocal accompanied by piano with a soft strings backing. Serendipity by Sara De Sanctis is a deeply melancholic play on denial. In that everything said is the opposite from the emotions actually experienced. A beautiful, clever song & a classy performance.”

Artist shared few words with Nagamag behind this song inspiration"
"I am particularly attached to Serendipity. I wrote it at 5 am after a sleepless night, and the words came out easily. It's about remembrance and denial, it's about rejecting all those thoughts and memories that keep you awake at night. I started singing the melody before rushing to a piano to actually write it down. I remember that at that time I was taking a class in Sondheim's musical analyses, and I believe I was strongly influenced by his songs. One, in particular, was 'The Road You Didn't Take', where everything said in the lyrics is a lie. And that's how I thought about my lyrics." - Sara De Sanctis
Born in 1995 in Italy, Sara De Sanctis started playing the piano when she was five years old and became passionate about songwriting and composition during her teenage years. She achieved a Conservatoire Piano Diploma in Italy and in 2017 she graduated in Music at the University of Bristol, after having studied composition and conducting at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, USA. She is currently active as a pianist, singer/songwriter, and composer for media. Inspired by artists such as Aurora, Diana Krall, and Thom Yorke, her style can be defined as a mix of pop and jazz, and it is characterised by soft vocals, evocative piano melodies, and airy synths.
