Opening its doors for the first time in 2011, the original members of the The Liquor Store Émile Farley (bass), Alex Francoeur (saxophone), Rémi Cormier (trumpet) and Félix Le Blanc (keyboards) presented a fresh musical tasting by young and talented jazz fanatics. The loyal fan base cheered the group’s release of its first EP Hooked in 2013, showcasing a flavorful blend of funk and R&B. Since adding drummer Jean-Daniel Thibeault-Desbiens and guitarist Félix Blackburn in 2014, The Liquor Store has performed all across Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick while promoting its groovy energy, especially through major events like the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2016 and 2017. After winning the popular TVA music competition Faites comme chez vous (2015), The Liquor Store started collaborating with Connor Seidel, who produced their second EP Room For Everyone in 2016. This last production witnessed of a broadened musical palette, thanks to the guest contributions of rappers and songwriters such as David Hodges, Philippe Koffi, Max Miller, Fabrice Koffi and Judith Little D. Individually, members of The Liquor Store have mixed and paired well with Montreal’s hip-hop and world music scenes, joining Nomadic Massive, Busty & The Bass, Clay and Friends or Vox Sambou, to name only a few.
